The Bee’s Knees

I am most likely stating the obvious here but judging by the heat index rising to extreme levels outside of my spaceship, we are experiencing that part of the solar year referred to as summer. The fact that the calendar says August is another good hint. While the intense heat is not ideal for me (or my Earthling friends for that matter), the high humidity in the Dayton area is doing wonders for my slime coat.

I’m not a huge fan of the summer heat, but there is something about the season that gets my eye stalks quivering. As the days get shorter and the temperatures decline, that means fall is right around the corner. There’s nothing I enjoy more on your planet than the autumn and all it brings: beautiful and colorful foliage, pumpkin spice everything and the annual myCUmortgage Partner Conference.

For the last 20+ years, myCUmortgage has invited each of our partner credit unions to join us in Dayton for three days of insights, education and networking, all with the focus on credit union mortgage lending and helping more members with homeownership. This year is the 20th Partner Conference held, and to help celebrate that milestone, we’re tapping into the Roaring Twenties and all the optimism, growth and innovation it represents.

Scheduled October 14-16 at the Marriott at the University of Dayton, the 2025 Partner Conference is aptly themed, An Era of Possibilities: Pursuing the American Dream of Homeownership. Borrowing from the recent news release on the event, this year’s conference features in-depth information on industry best practices, regulatory updates, economic outlooks and practical experience and education on the mortgage process and technology. Some of the key highlights include:

  • An inspirational and powerful keynote address by The Skid Row CEO, Joe Roberts.
  • A deep dive into the world of mortgage regulations from the man who makes compliance fun, Michael Christians. This session is sponsored by Arch MI.
  • Ask the Experts is Puttin’ on the Ritz with six stations offering valuable tools and tips.
  • A special session dedicated exclusively to our CU Select partners.
  • A panel discussion with several industry experts looking at the current mortgage landscape, today’s economy and future trends.
  • A session laying out all the myCU beeswax, What’s New at myCU.

In addition to these great sessions, a big driver for attendees is networking. Year after year, attendees indicate that they want more time to interact with the experts at myCUmortgage, fellow credit union mortgage leaders and our vendor partners. We’re excited to deliver several networking opportunities, including:

  • Meet Up at the Liberty – Roaring Twenties Opening Bash, sponsored by Northwest Union
  • Take it Easy at Coco’s Speakeasy Networking Dinner
  • Behind the Velvet Curtain: myCU Tours

For the dates and times of these events as well as a full rundown of the conference schedule, check out the Agenda.

Another exciting component of the Partner Conference is the myCUmortgage Annual Awards and Luncheon. I won’t go into too much detail here – just check out my previous post which dives into the awards. I will, however, share with you the Nomination Form. If you have any questions on the awards program, contact your Partner Success Manager.

For this overview of the Partner Conference and all the included events, I’ve saved the best for last. This year, we’re bringing back the most popular attraction we’ve had in the 20 years of the conference: The myCU Demo Room! Designed to help you deliver the BEST user and member experience possible, this is your chance to receive live demonstrations of the latest loan origination and point-of-sale technology that myCUmortgage has to offer. With multiple stations run by myCU experts, the Demo Room, which is sponsored by MeridianLink, will be open to attendees during select times on both Wednesday and Thursday. You don’t want to miss this great opportunity to see our new technology firsthand.

From my standpoint, this year’s Partner Conference, along with its powerful lineup of speakers, sessions and events, is going to be hotter than these past few weeks in Ohio! You could say it’s the bee’s knees! Will you be attending this year’s conference? What are you most looking forward to? Have you attended in the past? Please share all your Partner Conference insights below.

And if you’ve yet to register, I’d like to remind you of the Early Bird discount. Register Here before August 31 and you save 50 clams, as they would say in the 1920s. That’s $50, folks, that you keep in your pocket. So don’t wait any longer. Shake the dust off and become a part of this Era of Possibilities.
