Happy New Year, everyone! I’m still a bit mystified over why Earthlings invest so much significance in the solar cycle. Historically, on your planet, it’s been celebrated in some form since the days of Ancient Rome, so who am I to question this time-honored tradition, right? It is, after all, an ideal opportunity for reflection, renewal and new beginnings, which are all things any living spirit needs to embrace their very livelihood.
Since the “ball” dropped in New York City’s Times Square (this part of the tradition I genuinely DON’T understand), I’ve already noticed a new trend emerging across various fields and industries: animated annual reviews. Whether it’s food delivery services, music streaming applications, grocery stores or social media platforms, companies and organizations have become infatuated with providing their users with digital slideshows highlighting usage and spending habits.
While some of these are entertaining, there are some that we could do without, as the information they provide is oftentimes uninspiring and of little value. For instance, my grocery store app made a celebratory point around the fact that the product I purchased most in 2025 was Moon Pies. I could have told them that without any annual purchasing analysis, but thanks for the reminder.
That said, some of them do provide some interesting and useful insights. Knowing which of my social media posts, for example, delivered the most impact is helpful as I create new posts in the coming year. Along those lines is this blog. While we didn’t receive a fancy digital presentation on which of my posts were the most popular, our own internal resource (i.e., my marketing colleague, Kevin) was able to dive into the metrics and determine which posts YOU thought were the most useful and entertaining in 2025.
Let’s look at the Top Five posts and why they were at the top of the list.
What Archetype is Your Credit Union?
This one could be my favorite post of all time. This discussion of archetypes in business and marketing really gets the reader thinking about what archetype(s) define their company and culture. Are they a hero, a caregiver, a magician or some combination of the 12 archetypes? This post encourages reflection and interaction, inviting discussion throughout the exploration of your company’s brand and identity.
As I continue to immerse myself in Earth’s culture, the traditional winter holidays have become quite eventful for me. This post was an opportunity to share my excitement about the season… as well as present a little holiday “gift” to you. Readers were also presented with helpful information about gifted funds that they can use to assist and educate their members during their homebuying journey.
Do you shop on Amazon or use one of their various services? Do you ever wonder how this multi-faceted provider of EVERYTHING (or so it seems) makes the magic happen, even in times of uncertainty? This “big brand” case study is for you! See how the Amazon way of doing business relates to credit unions, and discover some simple and practical ways to navigate obstacles on your path to success.
In this post, we suit up and take the field with the NCUL – the National Credit Union League! We explore the similarities in how participants in the sport of football have TRUST in their fellow teammates and how your members have a deep TRUST in you to guide them through the oftentimes complicated and confusing journey to homeownership. When you instill that sense of trust with your members, everyone wins!
One of the biggest hurdles credit union mortgage lenders face in their quest to get more members into homes is the unfounded fear many potential homebuyers exhibit around the mortgage process. The best way to help them overcome this fear is through educational marketing! In this post, we explore the importance of following the mortgage process while educating members along the way.

I sincerely hope your 2026 is off to a great start and the year proves successful for you, your credit union and your members! And continue to enjoy those “year in review” summaries from your favorite businesses and organizations – for me, I’m thinking maybe the one from my grocery store was beneficial after all. It reminded me that I need to restock my supply of Moon Pies!
