Last evening in my hibernation chamber, I woke up suddenly during a dream. In case you were wondering, most alien species share that trait with humans and dream during rest periods. The one exception that comes to my cranium is the Minoians – they rest or rather reset during microbursts that occur within their amphibious bodies, not providing their brains enough time to formulate a dream. Their short attention span is sort of like your goldfish here on Earth.
Anyhow, let’s get back to my dream. Herein, however, lies my boggle – I can’t fully remember it!
I’m sure many of you have suffered from changing levels of acetylcholine and norepinephrine during sleep, causing your dreams to escape you. It’s perfectly normal yet strangely frustrating. In this instance, when I opened my eye stalks, I thought I had a great story for my blog, and then POOF, it was gone.
I then recalled a recent conversation with fellow myCUmortgage experts about making the dreams of homeownership a reality for credit union members. I was stricken with fear when I thought about those members “forgetting” their homeownership dreams, but I quickly realized that myCUmortgage and our partner credit unions are in the business of dream making!
Dream Makers. That takes the “Credit Union Way” of doing business to an entirely new celestial level. It is our belief in the credit union space that everyone deserves a home they can call their own, and it is our mission and duty to make that happen for as many members as possible. This passion and drive results in a blueprint that we Dream Makers follow on the path to member homeownership.
In today’s challenging real estate and mortgage markets, helping fulfill these homeownership dreams is more important than ever. Many members may follow the news about mortgage rates and home availability and convince themselves that now is not the time to dream. They find themselves waking up and forgetting all about homeownership. What they fail to realize is that they have Dream Makers on their side.
As I’ve noted before, no matter the market conditions, members will always need homes, which means credit union mortgage lenders need to tune up and turn on their dream making skills. Whether it’s talking with their members now to help them plan for the future, creating marketing campaigns, reaching out to build Realtor relationships or enhancing mortgage expertise through professional development, we must ensure that members not only continue to dream but also realize their dreams of homeownership.
With the unequivocal TLC that a credit union provides its members, we can start making dreams that will become realities and never be forgotten.
